Pastor James has recently been speaking to staff and various leaders about how we often want to know how to do something before we actually step out and have a go!
Yes we’re all control freaks in some areas of our lives!
He talked about the idea that most of what we learn is actually learnt on the job!
more like 90%
Wow!
If we actually pause and look back we can all recall events of being unsure or nervous, for instance, when taking on a new job or new area of responsibility! Why not do that now? take a minute!
here are a few things to think about;
Does your current knowledge limit you? Am I fixed on the 10% and does it dominate me? If so look out at the possibilities not the limiting factors! There’s 90% out there! I understand that sometimes we need specific knowledge but it should not be an excuse to limit you in your growth! You are designed for growth!
Secondly, if you are thinking of going for a new job or stepping up but a little unsure! Why not go for it! reflect back over situations where you stepped out and overcame your fears…… and get confidence in yourself! YOU can do it!
Thirdly, when someone asks you to do something? (as long as it’s legal! ) Simply say yes!
If we can gain confidence from reflecting back we can trust to step out even more!
Remember 90% is learnt on the job!
Take a risk and step into your 90%
Thank you Pastor James!
